Integrated guidance and control for solar sail station-keeping with optical degradation

Current control approaches for solar sail station-keeping on libration point orbits have not considered the degradation of sail’s optical properties. However, significant could lead to poor performance or even complete failure. This paper presents an integrated guidance and strategy address this problem by updating reference orbit based in situ estimation. An exponential model is incorporated into radiation acceleration model, on-line update approach station-keeping, coupled with active disturbance rejection controller. The reflection coefficient estimated updated discretely when properties degraded a prescribed amount. provides discrete updates such that perturbation due maintained within small range. These smaller perturbations can be dealt controller’s robustness sustained long durations presence large degradation.
